Sales are under way for the newest neighborhood at Valley Lakes, an 865-acre master-planned community in north suburban Round Lake by Pritzker Realty Group.
The 46 single-family homes in the Ancient Oaks neighborhood will be developed by William Ryan Homes.
Base-priced from the $190,000s, nine floor plans range from 1,950 to 3,400 square feet. Some sites are suitable for walkout and English basements. The Ravinia, one of the available designs, includes four bedrooms, 2 baths and a first-floor library.
Valley Lakes will include a new elementary school, for kindergarten through second grade, scheduled to open in the fall. It is located on the southwest corner of Nippersink and Wilson Roads.
To reach Valley Lakes, take Interstate Highway 294/94 north to the Illinois Highway 120 exit. Go west to Fairfield Road, then right to Nippersink Road, and left to the community entrance. For information, call 847-995-8700.
– Cedar Crossing, a Buschman Homes community of 310 semi-custom homes and 74 town homes in north suburban Lake Villa, is hosting a Showcase of Homes Saturday and Sunday.
Seven decorated single-family and town home models will be open for touring. There will also be a cooking and kitchen design demonstration, a wine tasting party and a $2,000 giveaway from Buschman to be used toward kitchen options.
The eight ranch and two-story single-family plans are base-priced from $184,000 to $230,000. They range from 1,670 to 2,530 square feet. Many of the homes include walkout basements.
The three town home designs include two or three bedrooms, a loft, first-floor master suite, kitchen, breakfast area and basement. Available in buildings of two, three or four units, they are base-priced from $156,990 to $167,990 and range from 1,361 to 1,798 square feet.
Cedar Crossing is on Illinois Highway 83, 1 mile south of Illinois Highway 132.

– Four decorated models opened June 17 at Barrington Ridge, a community of 180 single-family homes in west suburban Aurora.
Homes range from 1,874 to 3,050 square feet and are base-priced from $190,900 to $239,900.
They offer three to five bedrooms, 2 to 3 baths and full basements. Master suites include private baths with soaking tubs and separate showers.
Developer Smykal Associates is offering a choice of pre-construction specials: a three-car garage plus $2,000 in upgrades or a woodburning fireplace, central air conditioning and $3,300 in upgrades.
The largest model is the 3,050-square-foot Whitney plan. Base-priced from $234,900, it includes four bedrooms, 2 baths, family room, a kitchen with lunch bar and pantry, formal living and dining rooms, a first-floor den, and a master suite with walk-in closet and optional sitting area.
Barrington Ridge is within the Oswego School District. It is on Hafenrichter Road, a quarter mile east of Eola Road.

– North Shore Development has opened a decorated model at Delaware Place, a community of 48 condominiums in north suburban Gurnee.
The 1,337-square-foot Bristol model includes a dining room, living room with an optional corner fireplace, a kitchen with peninsula and closet with washer and dryer hook-ups. The master bedroom has a walk-in closet.
Five floor plans are available ranging from 1,267 to 1,390 square feet. They include two bedrooms and two baths, a kitchen with breakfast nook, dining room, patio or balcony with enclosed storage space, and underground parking. Base prices range from $149,900 to $169,900.
To reach the community, take Interstate Highway 94 north to Illinois Highway 120, west to Hunt Club Road, north to Washington Street, left on Old Walnut Circle to the sales center at 34472 N. Old Walnut Circle.
