You can sit around the kitchen table telling funny stories about Uncle Leo from Utica, but there’s a better way to remember the old boy.
The National Arbor Day Foundation’s Trees in Memory program lets people restock national forests and honor deceased family members or friends. For every $10 donated through Trees in Memory, the foundation a nonprofit education organization plants 10 trees in national forests that have been damaged by fire, disease or insects. The foundation also sends a card to those making the donation, which they can present to the family of the person they’ve chosen to remember.
