Sometimes good movies for the whole family can be hard to find. This summer, look no further. “Chicken Run” (PG) is on the loose in theaters.

The chickens in Ms. Tweety’s farm are in a race . . . a race to save their lives! Ms. Tweety, the owner of the farm, is on a mission. Her mission is to make her chickens produce as many eggs as possible. Unfortunately for the chickens, if they do not produce as many eggs as she wants, she will have them killed.

Ginger, the leader and motivator of the flock of chickens, tries to figure out a way to become free one day and save each chicken’s life. Unfortunately, more often than not, her amazing ideas go up in smoke. Eventually, help flies her way.

Rocky, a runaway circus chicken, soars into Ms. Tweety’s chicken farm and begins to rock the farm upside down. If Rocky’s voice sounds somewhat familiar, that’s because it’s the voice of action superstar Mel Gibson. Rocky’s charisma and Ginger’s leadership lead to an exciting race with time to see if they can save their fellow chicken’s lives as well as their own.

These clay-animated, talking chickens will immediately grab your attention. Each chicken has a distinct personality, and their quirky antics will keep you laughing.

From the hilarious one-liners to the fast-paced action, there is rarely a dull moment in “Chicken Run.” The jokes will appeal to older kids, and the action will appeal to everyone. Watching chickens run has never been so much fun.
