Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

There is a difference between getting an education and getting a high test score. And so, it just doesn’t make sense to me why the state board of education wants every junior in high school to take the Prairie State tests.

It doesn’t make sense for those students who aren’t planning to go to college. It doesn’t make sense to take time away from the curriculum to prepare students for the tests. It doesn’t make sense for one set of tests to determine whether one makes it into college or not. It doesn’t make sense for test scores to determine one’s auto insurance rates. If we want to do something that makes sense, why not dispense with the Prairie State tests and spend the money instead on our schools and students.
