What a sad day in Chicago radio history to be losing WMAQ-AM 670, whose call letters have been synonymous with quality programming in our great city for the better part of the last century (Business, July 11). I can’t see how the new all-sports format can successfully compete with intelligent news and information broadcasting. We need more educational radio, not more shock jocks or inane talk shows.
