As an adoptive mother of two, I was disturbed by your July 13 editorial criticizing the Archdiocese of Chicago’s skepticism over the new relationship between Planned Parenthood and a local adoption agency. You missed the point, I think, about Planned Parenthood. As the Tribune’s July 9 news story noted, Planned Parenthood is the Chicago-area’s–as well as the nation’s–largest abortion provider, and is therefore arguably the organization most responsible for the sharp decline in the number of babies available for adoption in this country.
