A bat found last week in east Vanderburgh County tested positive for rabies, city officials announced Wednesday.
The discovery proves that rabies still exists in the area’s wildlife population, the Evansville mayor’s office said. Residents were encouraged to report any wild, dead or injured animal to animal control officials.
