Janet Sorkin died peacefully at home July 7, 2000. She was nearly 88 years young. Born in NYC, she moved to Chicago over 50 years ago. Janet loved Chicago! After 20 years with Trans Union Corp, she embarked on a second career as a Volunteer. Janet directed Chicago’s Elder Artisan Program. She became a tireless worker for St. Joseph Hospital, RSVP-Retired Seniors & Volunteers Program, the March of Dimes Baby Cap Volunteers & Life Source Blood Services. She also helped at many of the city’s charity marathons. Janet will be greatly missed by her many friends and her family-especially nieces Sue Ellen Smyle, Los Angeles and Caryl Eller, Boca Raton, FL. Services were private. Memorial gifts to St. Joseph Hospital would be truly appreciated. Aunt Janet, Requiescat In Pace!
