Donald R. “Musher” Thorson, age 69, passed away on Sept. 28, 2000, devoted husband of Mary A. “Musher”, nee Chalupnik; loving father of Paula (Ken) Bibbiano; fond “Dziadzi” of Beckie (Rick) Cosgrove; great-grandfather of Brayden Cosgrove; dear brother of Mildred (Herbert) Gulbrandsen, the late Aldon (Mary) Thorson, the late Clarice Gorden and the late Harold (Joanie) Thorson; dear brother-in-law of Victoria (the late Michael) Lombardo, the late Joseph, the late Walter (the late Josie) Chalupnik, Agnes (the late Stanley) Winiarski, Frank (the late Donna) and Raymond Chalupnik; fond uncle and great-uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday3 to 9 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Lying in state Monday 10 a.m. until time of Service 11 a.m. at Martin Luther Church, 6850 W. Addison St., Chicago. Interment Irving Park Cemetery. Retired engineer of heavy equipment of Streets & Sanitation for the City of Chicago and former Precinct Captain of the Old 30th Ward Democratic Organization.
