Thank you for publishing the incredible photos of Jamal Aldura and his son, Mohammed, under fire in the Gaza Strip (News, Oct. 1). It twisted my heart up into my throat and made me wish I could shout “stop” so loud it would be heard halfway around the world, silencing the sound of guns.
Looking at those photos, I wanted God himself to put out his hand and stop the bullets, but He didn’t.
As a Vietnam vet, I think I understand something about conflict.
But over the years I understand better that all we really want to leave our children is peace.
