I find this parent report card idea to be degrading and humiliating to an adult. The message that this sends out to the public is that only public school officials are capable of educating and caring for children.

It is the public school system’s job to educate the children. The parents have already been educated by the system and obviously passed or they would not be able to work for and provide a home for their children.

If I received a report card judging me, I would turn right around and judge the school system on:

How much time is spent one-on-one.

The amount of time wasted in testing instead of teaching.

The amount of memorization of scientific principles, math equations, U.S. Constitution, order of the presidents, how a bill becomes a law, etc.

It seems to me the only thing the public schools would pass in is the ability to think of ways to keep from actually educating the future leaders of America.
