A maximum of five occupancy permits has been approved by the Huntley Village Board for buildings in the Regency Square subdivision even though utility and infrastructure improvements are not yet in place.
Regency Square developer Joe Buralli had requested deferral of the improvements, which include burying power lines and relocating sewer and water mains, until next year. He also requested permission to create temporary access to the subdivision from Illinois Highway 47.
Two of the buildings under construction, Citizens Bank and a Del Webb administration building, are expected to be completed within 60 days.
The board’s approval of Buralli’s request last week is contingent on receipt of a $3.5 million letter of credit to ensure that the required improvements are made.
