A 38-year-old Cary man was treated at Sherman Hospital in Elgin for a cut finger and bruises to his head after was robbed and beaten by a group of men in the 0 to 99 block of Oxford Road, authorities said. The victim told authorities early Thursday that three to five men wearing hoods pulled him from the late-model Dodge van he was driving about 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Foxview Apartment complex, police said. The attackers allegedly stole property valued at $930. Carpentersville Police Lt. Tony DePippo said the robbery was at least the third similar incident to be reported recently by non-residents visiting the Foxview complex.
