James F. Boyer, 65, of Palatine, beloved husband of Carol M., nee Garvin; loving father of Martin J., M.D. (Judy) Boyer; cherished grandfather of Brendan, Kelsey, Ryan and Shea; dear brother of Charles (Virginia), Joseph (Donna), Rita (Gene) Haberman, Thomas (Jean), Paul (Jamie), Sr. Roberta, Sr. Lourdes and the late Elizabeth (Arnold) Skiver and Richard (Pat) Boyer. Retired in 1987 as District Fire Chief, City of Toledo, OH after 27 years of service. Jim celebrated his life with family and friends. He had many hobbies, including flying, boating, scuba diving, photography and Barber Shop quartet singing. Jim was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
