This is in response to Betty Holcomb’s “Right to choose at stake” (Voice of the people, Oct. 11). The right to choose is not at stake in the coming election. Fundamentally the right to choose whether and when to have children occurs when the pants/knickers/undies come off. A guest speaker at our congregation last Sunday nailed this issue with the following clarification: The phrase “right to choose” must be completed.

That so-called choice occurs at a doctor’s office, when it becomes the right to choose to kill/murder/terminate an unborn child. That’s not a choice; it’s an abdication of responsibility and accountability.
