Served as a Deacon at St. Mary of Vernon Church and St. Jerome Church in Chicago. He also served as Chaplain at St. Francis and Cook County Hospitals. Beloved husband of Rita nee, Reiter; loving father of James, Ph.D. (Kathy M.D.), Carol, Steve (Mary Ann), Mary Ph.D. (George Cowan), Allen, Kathy (Tom) O’Neill, Ted Ph.D. (Christine), Maureen, Paul (Tess M.D.) and Hugh (Betty) Hogan; loving grandfather of Adam, Seth, Lisa, Laura, Eric, Ellen, Erin and Devin Hogan, Nicholas Frinzi, Brian Phelps, Jeremy and Malaika Cowan, Julia and Nicholas O’Neill and Jennifer Valencia, he was preceeded in death by one granddaughter Christine Phelps.
