Joyanne S. Augustine, nee Loquist, 55, of Forest Lake, MN, lost her courageous battle with leukemia and went to be with the Lord at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16, 2000 in M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX. Born July 14, 1945 in Chicago, daughter of William G. and Anne V., nee Vais, Loquist. She was raised in Chicago, where she met her husband, Rick, and started her married life and teaching career. The family later moved to Rockford, where Joy took pride in raising her two sons, motivating them to achieve academic success and become accomplished swimmers. Joy was many things to many people mother, wife, sister, friend, volunteer and teacher. One thing remained constant, her ability to touch people with her unconditional love. Married Richard J. “Rick” Augustine in Chicago on Dec. 19, 1970. She is survived by her husband, Rick; sons, Bradley Augustine, 25 and Jeffrey Augustine, 22, both of Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Marlene Billington of Los Angeles, CA, Dianne Wolchik of Dallas, TX and Willanne Swonk of Lake Worth, FL; predeceased by parents. Services 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21 in Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Stephen Folorunso officiating. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with Scripture Service at 7:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 100 W.
