Douglas N. Bazsali, 48, of Naperville, a manager of Karrington’s Restaurant at Country Lakes Golf Course, died of liver disease Wednesday, Oct. 18, in Edward Hospital in Naperville. Born in Evanston, Mr. Bazsali grew up in Elgin and graduated in 1969 from Larkin High School, where he was a member of the golf team. He earned a bachelor of arts degree at Bradley University in Peoria, where he worked as a waiter in several local restaurants. After graduation, Mr. Bazsali managed the Sea Merchant Restaurant in Champaign in the 1980s before moving to Naperville. For 12 years, Mr. Bazsali managed Karrington’s, a banquet facility at the Naperville golf course. He also worked for the pro shop and grounds crew. He is survived by his mother, Janette Menke; his stepfather, Kenneth Menke; two brothers, Gordon and Bruce; two stepbrothers, Scott and Mark Menke; and a stepsister, Charlotte Eskildsen. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Services will be held during the visitation at 2 p.m.
