A cab driver was cited for having driven off with a sleeping child in his back seat? Classic. This is just one more example of parents today not taking responsibility for their actions but instead blaming others.
“Teachers aren’t doing enough.” “There’s too much violence on TV.” “Movies made my kids shoot up the school.”
The way I see it, cite the parents for their irresponsibility in not bringing the child in from the cab. Make them sit through a child-welfare program. Have them spend a little time with some underprivileged children.
No, wait, I have a better idea: Cite the cab driver, print his name but not the parents’ names in the paper.
Thank God the child was returned unharmed, and shame on those parents.
