Five years ago I was a pilgrim to the holy sites in Jerusalem. It was a travel and religious experience I treasure. My thoughts focus not on big meetings in Egypt or Camp David but on the home industries in Israel, where the creche figures, donkeys and camels were hand-carved for tourists to purchase and bring home. Those households in Jerusalem and Bethlehem have no income these days.
