I disagree with Steve Chapman’s “Symbolic gesture? Does your vote really matter?” (Commentary, Nov. 2). In it he writes, ” . . . it makes absolutely no difference…if you don’t bother to vote at all.” His argument does not consider the impact of everyone not voting, which would be disastrous. The purpose of each individual’s vote is not to close the gap. The purpose is for each individual’s vote to be counted.
