John Michael Scott, born Sept. 6, 1940, Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family and friends on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000 after losing a gallant fight against cancer. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, ReAnn; two sons, Tobin Michael of St. Louis, MO and Sean Paul of Minneapolis, MN: sister, Susan of New York City, NY; and brother, David of Atlanta, GA. John was a graduate of Loyola Academy, John Carroll University and Northwestern University. He served two tours of duty in Vietnam and retired from the U.S. Navy as a Lt. Commander. For the past 33 years he has held various executive positions with The Marmon Group of Companies, most recently as President and General Manager of Matt-son, Inc. in Barrington, IL. There will be a gathering of friends and family for a Celebration of John’s Life on Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Lake Barrington Shores Community Center from 12 noon to 8 p.m. For directions please call 847-277-0565 .
