Birth date: Oct. 19, 1937.
Birthplace: I was born in Berlin and raised in Shanghai, Tibet, India, South Africa, Italy, Israel and France. My father was in the import-export business. We moved to Manhattan when I was 15.
Occupation: Artist.
Current home: Manhattan.
Marital status: Married for three years to Mary Max.
Children: Adam, 34, is a lawyer, and Libra, 28, is an animal rights activist and musical composer.
Car: I have every Corvette ever made, but I don’t drive.
Working on: I’ll be at the North Shore Gallery [at Northbrook Court] on Dec. 16 and 17, I’m developing my Web site, I’ve got 4,000 banners in New York, and I employ 105 people.
The last good movies I saw: “Pay It Forward.” It fits what I am, which is very charitable. And “Almost Famous.” It brought back a lot of memories of the ’60s.
I stay home to watch: Anything about astronomy. Before I became a popular artist, I was going to be an astronomer. That’s why there are always stars and planets in my work.
The book I’ve been reading: I don’t have time to read, but I listen to audiotapes, especially anything having to do with trends and futurism. I do have 300 books on the great yogi masters.
Favorite meal: A nice glass of carrot juice with some beets and ginger in it, brown rice and vegetables, a nice apple. I stopped drinking coffee six months ago and now half-decaf, half-hot water is my biggest vice.
Personal heroes: Gauguin for his composition and color, Matisse for his line and Picasso for his work habits.
I’d give anything to meet: I’ve met almost everyone and done his portrait. Now I want to meet creative venture capitalists.
The one thing I can’t stand: The cruelty toward animals.
Most humbling experience: Seeing my parents frightened when we lived in Shanghai and we were being bombed.
The three words that best describe me: Love, peace and happiness.
