Joseph G. Pfligler, 78, died Saturday, Dec. 9, in his Elk Grove Village home. Mr. Pfligler was born in Hungary and immigrated to Chicago as a young boy. He served in the Army during World War II. After his military service, Mr. Pfligler settled in Chicago and worked as a machinist and then later as a foreman at Boyar & Schultz, an airplane parts manufacturer in Broadview. He retired in the late 1980s. He is survived by his wife of more than 55 years, Mila; two sons, Steven and James; and six grandchildren. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights. A mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights.
