After trailing nearly the entire game, the Cincinnati Cyclones scored two unanswered goals in the final period to beat the Wolves 4-3 at the Allstate Arena on Friday night.
The loss extended the Wolves’ winless streak to a season-high-tying five games (0-5-0).
“I thought we hit rock bottom last game, but I was wrong,” said Wolves coach, John Anderson. “No one feels sorry for us. We’ve won some championships and when we’re down, teams want to keep us down.”
With the loss the Wolves (10-12-2) fell behind 2-1 in the series against Cincinnati this season. Cincinnati (15-12-3) extended its unbeaten-in-regulation streak to a season-high six games, including four consecutive wins.
Center Steve Larouche contributed to each of the Wolves’ tallies and matched a season-high with three points (goal and two assists).
