To me Sept. 29 will always be a very special date. My husband and I had been married 10 years on that day in 1939 when we brought our 9-year-old son home from the hospital where he had been treated for polio. He was well on the way to recovery, and his younger sister had not contracted the disease. That day was my absolutely most perfect holiday.
