United Stationers Inc.’s Lagasse Brothers unit agreed to acquire Peerless Paper Mills Inc., Oaks, Pa., for an undisclosed amount. Peerless, which has annual sales of about $75 million, provides janitorial/sanitation, paper and food service products to more than 2,000 customers in 18 states in the Northeast and Midwest. The transaction, which will add to Des Plaines-based United Stationers’ 2001 income, will close early next month.
