Finished with your basement? Many people who thought they were are giving them a second look. Home remodelers say after a long lull, more owners of existing homes are deciding to finish their basements.
“Finished basements are becoming more of a priority,” says Barbara Vincentsen, founder of Vincentsen Associates, a 13-year-old architectural firm in Westfield, N.J. Vincentsen says her clients are using them as exercise rooms, playrooms, family rooms, even media rooms and home offices.
