George John Grant Gustafson, age 72, native of Norwood Park, passed away Dec. 29, graduate of Lane Tech High School and Northwestern University with a degree in Economics. He served in the U.S. Military at Gen. MacArthur’s Headquarters during the Repatriation of Japan. George worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad and 22 years with the Chicago Transit Authority in the Engineering Department. After retirement from the CTA, he operated Transport Arts Corp., a private contract rail and motor transportation business. He is survived by his life companion Myra E. Cayten; cousins Henry F. Green, of Niles and Lenore Reynolds of Venice, FL. A private graveside service was held at Norwood Park Cemetery. Memorials to the charity of your choice appreciated.
