Bravo to Eli Maor who wrote “Blame Arabs” (Voice of the people, Jan.12). Countless times I also have wanted to write the same letter. How soon we older Americans forget the War of 1948 when Israel became a nation.
Why don’t we educate our younger Americans regarding the struggle of one tiny nation against what must have appeared to be insurmountable odds? Why must Israel give the land back to the oppressors who waged war to drive the Jews out of the Mideast? That same land is a buffer to ensure that an invasion such as 1948 never happens again.
There are always innocents who are the victims of wars, and they are, sadly, the people who suffer the most. I pray that the Arab leaders will very soon work for peace in the Mideast instead of war.
