Following the death of actor Billy Barty on Dec. 24, Little People of America, Inc. announced the establishment of the Billy Barty Memorial Adoption Fund.

A founding member of LPA in 1957, Barty was a dedicated advocate for all individuals of short stature, but felt especially dedicated to ensuring that dwarf children put up for adoption would be placed in loving, welcoming families.

Donations to the fund are welcome. Checks should be made payable to Little People of America, Inc., P.O. Box 745, Lubbock, TX 79408, Attn: Billy Barty Memorial Adoption Fund.

LPA, Inc., is a non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (c) 3 organization.

The organization offers information on employment, education, disability rights, legislative advocacy, adaptive devices, parenting tips and more to people whose short stature is caused by one of the more than 200 medical conditions known as dwarfism.
