Dr. Joachim B. Bronny, M.D., respected physician and doctor, died Jan. 28, 2001 at home in Galesburg, IL. He was born Jan. 29, 1914 in Poland. He is the beloved husband of Irena Iwankowska. He is the loving father of Dr. Andrew (Mary) Bronny of Downers Grove, IL, Christopher (Mary Kay) Bronny of Rockford, IL and Maria (Rich) Ciesla of Chicago. He is the special grandfather of Elizabeth (Douglas) Ciesla-Hodgeson, Gregory, Mark and Alexandra Ciesla, Andrew, Thomas, Daniel and Margaret Bronny and Krystiana Bronny. He is the great-grandfather of Madeleine Hodgeson. He was a survivor of the Nazi Labor Camp during WWII. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Joachim. Visitation will be Wednesday, Jan. 31 from 3 to 8 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home, Galesburg, IL. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, Feb. 1 at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg.
