Tired of the snow-crusted lunar landscape that Chicagoland’s streets have become this winter? Then refresh your senses at the Smart Museum’s “Family Day: Picturing Worlds Near and Far.” Learn to create Egyptian landscape paintings, take rubbings from ancient stone carvings, try your hand at Asian ink painting, or simply enjoy the baroque music at the free event sponsored by the Hyde Park Art Center and the Oriental Institute Museum. From 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Smart Museum of Art, University of Chicago, 5550 S. Greenwood Ave. 773-702-4540.
