LaRhett Livingston Stuart Jr, 82, of Tryon, NC, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, in Autumn Care Nursing Center, Saluda, NC, born in New York, NY, the son of the late General LaRhett L. and Dorothy Clark Stuart; husband of the late Helen Knight Stuart (December 2000); survived by son, Duncan K. Stuart of Albany, CA; daughters, Mary C. Stuart of Corrales, NM and Anne Stuart Bickel of Evergreen, CO; also five grandchildren; brother of the late Theodore C. Stuart. LaRhett was a graduate of the University of Maryland and a U.S. Army vet of WW II. Longtime resident of Winnetka and Glenview, IL and retired to Tryon, NC in 1990. He worked for many years at Skil Corporation in Chicago, IL. Mr. Stuart was an avid naturalist and woodworker. Member of Winnetka Congregational Church and the Congregational Church of Christ in Tryon, NC. A Memorial Service will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2001 in Autumn Care of Saluda, Saluda, NC, with Dr. Joseph Emery officiating. Also a memorial service will be held for LaRhett and Helen Stuart at 4 p.m. June 22, 2001 in Winnetka Congregational Church, Winnetka, IL with Dr. Joseph Shank officiating.
