Eugenia “Nia” Koudounis, nee Petropoulos, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, after a long illness. Beloved wife of Chris Koudounis; devoted daughter of the late Anthony and Margaret Petropoulos; dear sister of Peggy Petropoulis; fond sister-in-law of Violet (the late James) and Dina (the late George) Koudounis; cherished aunt of Stella (Dr. William) Menegas and John (Joanne) Koudounis; great-aunt of Georgina and Dina Menegas. Mrs. Koudounis formerly taught elementary school children in the Argo-Summit school district for over 42 years. Visitation Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave. Family and friends will meet Monday morning at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 2350 W. Dempster St. (at I-294 Tollway) Des Plaines, IL 60016 for funeral services at 10:30 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, Sts.
