I must admit that Scott Turow has written many great novels, is an excellent writer and probably a pretty good attorney. But his letter in defense of George Ryan must be a setup for another best-selling book and movie.

Before the licenses-for-bribes scandal surfaced, George Ryan was involved in questionable misconduct. It wasn’t long ago, before he became governor, that George Ryan was hiring his immediate and extended family to be on the state’s payroll at the Illinois taxpayers’ expense. His biggest scandal is yet to come. It’s a place called Peotone, and it’s the location he is pushing hard for as a location for a third airport this area doesn’t need.

I wonder what Scott Turow will name his book and movie and who will play George Ryan?
