I am responding to the article “Foundation to develop faith-based care” (News, Feb. 9).

If the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Faith in Action program has been working for several years, then why is it all of a sudden taking spring now that President Bush wants to “assist” these types of organizations?

How can the government justify funding these types of organizations with public funds?

Incentive should not be given to these philanthropic groups for their actions. Their incentive should not be government funds but rather personal satisfaction.

If organizations that are “faith-based” really have faith, put it in God for money, not in tax dollars.

If churches feel they can reach people, then God will provide, not Bush.
