Susan T. Smith, 72, of Naperville and formerly Elmhurst, the first occupational therapist hired by DuPage Easter Seals Center in Villa Park, died Sunday, Feb. 18, in Meadowbrook Manor of Naperville. Born in St. Louis, Mrs. Smith was a graduate of DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She completed her studies in occupational therapy at Washington University in St. Louis. Mrs. Smith also was a therapist for Little Friends in Naperville. A member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Naperville since 1968, Mrs. Smith was an avid reader, gardener and enjoyed needlepoint, family members said. Survivors include four daughters, Martha Gray, Amy Fogle, Jennifer Trezona and Nancy Hosler; nine grandchildren; and a brother, Eldone Truex. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren St., Naperville. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Congregational United Church of Christ, 25 E. Benton Ave., Naperville.
