Stuart G. McCarrell, poet, playwright, publisher, engineer, born in chicago, April 9, 1923, passed away suddenly February 1, in his Wicker Park office, beloved brother of the late Raymond, Marge (late Paul) Caldwell and Dorothy; fond uncle of nephews George McCarrell and Paul Caldwell and nieces Kathy Lertora, Gail Mazzone and Keri Tarchala; survivors also include numerous cousins; son of the late George and Anna, nee Vanderwall, McCarrell; and beloved friend of Ruth Ingeborg Andris. Mr. McCarrell was founder and president of Macan Engineering Company in Chicago. Interment private. Memorial services to be held Saturday, March 3, at 2 p.m., at Third Unitarian Church, 301 N. Mayfield Ave., Chicago, 773-626-9385. Contributions may be made to Third Unitarian Church, Nelson Algren Committee or Lincoln Brigade, c/o Third Unitarian Church.
