Lillian Pariser, 88, of Chicago and Ft. Lauderdale, died Thursday, Feb. 22, in her winter home in Florida. Mrs. Pariser was born in Pittsburgh and lived in New York before moving to Chicago after World War II with her husband, Henry, who had been decorated as a Merchant Marine captain for his wartime services. The couple established Monarch Cordage and Twine in Chicago, and Mrs. Pariser assisted in the business in the accounting and billing offices. The firm serviced the construction and shipping industries for more than 40 years. Mrs. Pariser was an active Christian Scientist and a member of the 20th Church of Chicago and First Church of Christ, Scientist of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. She traveled widely, visiting six continents. In her later years, she enjoyed relaxing in Galena, said her son Richard. Mrs. Pariser also was an ardent supporter of the arts, particularly the Art Institute of Chicago, her son said. Other survivors include sons Alan and Kenneth; a brother, Charles Carren; and three grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the noon service Monday at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave.
