How long must this overreaction to Dale Earnhardt’s death go on? The drivers and their families know the risks that they take each week racing, but they still do it.
Earnhardt’s death was a great tragedy to the NASCAR world, and we will miss him. But “voodoo” (“Deja vu plagues NASCAR at Rockingham, Dale Jr. crashes; rain postpones race,” Sports, Feb. 26)? Dale Jr.’s wreck was a simple racing mistake, and Mother Nature was the cause for the rain. Let’s put this behind us, step up the safety and move on.
