President Bush’s tax cut is a fraud. Relying on Bush’s 10-year surplus projection is like relying on a Cubs rebuilding program.
It’s amusing to realize that the fiscally responsible party is now the Democratic Party. The only president in the last 30 years to propose and operate under a balanced budget is Bill Clinton.
Ronald Reagan promised that we could have deficit spending to win the Cold War but that debt would be paid off. George W. now says forget that. He wants to increase spending and cut taxes. Sounds like having his cake and eating it too.
Be responsible. Pay down the debt. If the projections are true, in 10 years we’ll have the money for a huge tax cut.
