Joint venture with: WGN-TV’s Children’s Charities. Highlight: Dramatization of real-life conflicts and resolutions presented by students from Perspectives Charter School in the South Loop. The check that wouldn’t clear: That’s “check” as in coat check room, which was blocked by a locked door. As a long line formed, the hotel staff finally took a saw to the problem. The checks that mattered: About $300,000 was raised.
