Gov. George Ryan has distributed $1.5 million of Illinois FIRST cash to DuPage County for projects in Addison, Villa Park and Lemont.
Addison’s share is $750,000, which is earmarked for stormwater management and to help with flood control in low areas north of Fullerton Avenue.
The Ardmore Avenue business district in Villa Park will get $725,000 to expand its Police Department and to put up decorative lights. Lemont, which is in DuPage and Cook Counties, will see $100,000 for an industrial area’s water distribution system.
Illinois FIRST is Ryan’s 5-year infrastructure repair program. It began in fiscal 2000 and continues through 2004.
