The western grandstand in the proposed Soldier Field renovation plan was referred to in architecture critic Blair Kamin’s column today as a “seating bowl” (“Bears bend a bit on Soldier Field design, Daley urges team to cut arena size,” Page 1, June 5). Under the management of the McCaskey family, and the questionable leadership of Ted Phillips, that may be the only bowl the Bears could lay claim to for many years.
