How many times do we have to face an energy crisis before we do something about it? We’ve had several wakeup calls since the ’70s, and yet we’re no closer to energy independence than we were 30 years ago. When are we going to reduce our dependence on oil, both foreign and domestic? We face a never-ending battle in producing sufficient oil supplies at low prices, and a parallel battle trying to produce oil without damaging the environment. Clean and renewable energy is where the research and development dollars need to be directed.
Administration after administration has allowed big oil to keep us dependent. Now, with two big oilmen in office, we have to work that much harder to have our voices heard.
