James E. “Daddy” Griffin, 72, of Aurora, died Friday, June 22, in Elmwood Nursing Home in Aurora. Born in Holly Springs, Miss., Mr. Griffin was a deeply religious man who found his faith at an early age at Mackentire Church in his hometown. He later joined the Greater Love Baptist Church in Aurora and was employed for 34 years at 48 Insulation of North Aurora. Mr. Griffin was also an honorary member of Aurora Elks Lodge 1682 and participated in the Antler Guards. Survivors include his wife, Willie; four daughters, Willie, Ruby, Joyce and Loretta; a brother, Issac; two stepsisters, Berrynice Pool and Bernice MacKintire; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora.
