The live auction, conducted by Christie’s, raised $100,000. One hot number: Salsa lessons demonstrated by dancer Esther Gutierrez-Sloan went for $350. Let the music play: All night long, by local salsa band Havana. A good cook rules the world: Raves over the delicious Caribbean and Latin food. Surprise, surprise: It was catered by Deb Tunney of Ann Sather’s, usually known for fresh cinnamon rolls and smothered chicken.
