Chicago-based Methode Electronics Inc. acquired American Components Inc.’s automotive safety business for an undisclosed amount. Methode said the transaction includes production operations and patented intellectual property for a sensor pad American Components makes for automotive suppliers in occupant detection systems. Methode will produce the sensor pads in American Components’ former facility in Monterrey, Mexico.
