Gov. George Ryan decided not to run for re-election; no surprise here.
This highly unpopular governor was just in the wrong political party.
The man was pro-abortion, anti-gun, big taxer and spender, and he would have made a great Democratic candidate.
But alas, he wanted to change the Republican Party and make the Republican Party a Democratic clone.
I believe the truck driver license scandal had very little to do with his unpopularity. Most people aren’t concerned with the scandal, but they care a lot about paying $78 instead of $48 to renew their license plates.
